sWith excess ammonia, the technical grade of diammonium phosphate (DAP) contains 16 to 18% nitrogen and 20to 21 % phosphorus. DAP is an important fertilizer as well as an intermediate in the production of complex fertilizers and bulk blends.

The industrial grade can be used for impregnation of wood and fabric to increase its durability; it can be used as dry powder fire extinguishing agent, fluorescent phosphor; also used for the manufacturing of printing plate, tube, ceramic and  wastewater biochemical treatment; military use it as the flame retardants of rocket engine motor insulation materials.
